Beau Joubert Wine Dinner: A Taste of South Africa

Step into the heart of the Cape Winelands for one unforgettable evening. This is your chance to experience Beau Joubert—an American-owned South African winery rarely poured this far from home—paired course by course with a menu built to make every sip sing.

Beau Joubert’s story begins in 1695 on a historic wine farm in Stellenbosch, South Africa. In the late 1700s, French Huguenot descendant Dirk Daniel Joubert bought the land, and five Joubert generations have shaped it since. At the turn of the millennium, a spirited American–South African partnership gave the winery new life. Today, grapes are sourced from some of the Cape’s finest vineyards and crafted alongside award-winning winemaker Catherine Marshall, ensuring exceptional wines for years to come.

Here’s what makes this night truly special: Andrew Hilliard will be right here at the table with you. A Green Bay, Wisconsin native, Andrew fell hard for the grandeur of the Cape on his very first visit—so much so that he eventually took full ownership of Beau Joubert. He’ll personally guide you through each pour, sharing the passion and stories behind every bottle.

The wines you’ll savor:

  • 2020 The Ambassador — A bold Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon blend layered with black currant, red cherries, and plum, giving way to mint, fruitcake, leather, and a smoky finish.
  • 2021 Jacob’s Cab Cabernet Sauvignon — Aged 24 months in new French oak, brimming with juicy blackberries and mocha, wrapped in beautifully integrated tannins.
  • 2022 The Potter’s Wheel Chenin Blanc — Barrel fermented for lively complexity, with zesty citrus, tropical fruit, sweet honey, and a whisper of subtle oak.
  • 2019 Fat Pig Port-Style Fortified Shiraz — A fortified beauty, tawny in color, with ripe fruit, dried fruits and nuts, and a smooth, elegant finish.
  • 2023 The Genesis Sauvignon Blanc — Fruit-forward and fresh, weaving tropical fruit with light grassy notes and a crisp, mineral finish.

Chef Forster and his talented culinary team have created a sensational 5-course menu that perfectly complements the featured wines, elevating the dining experience to new heights! Every dish has been meticulously crafted to harmonize with the unique flavor profiles of each wine. With an innovative approach to pairing, Chef Forster brings out the best in every sip and bite, ensuring a seamless blend of tastes that will leave guests both satisfied and inspired.
